I would say Saturday after the presentation would be the best.... more people will be there & those that are interested will stay.... only a few will be there friday afternoon and even fewer Friday night....

Cheers

Hi Guys,
Saturday after we have done the presentations would be best, Friday afternoon and evening, as Anthony has already suggested, may not yield the number of shooters that you would get on Saturday.

If there are things to be discussed, how about you raise them here in this thread for a start, it might give people time to consider them before the meeting.

I'll contact Alex Chryss regarding the proposed meeting, he asked to be involved if we had a meeting.

Cheers.

I am not sure that there are many issues, but a couple things to discuss are

1) SOTY format for 2013.  There has been some background discussion to the format.
Some suggestions have been - Best 4 results from any three ranges - Best 5 results (no range requirements), best four results (any ranges). The object has been to encourage people to travel and participate in order to earn a SOTY place.....  I am sure Jugsy, PVM and anyone else who wishes to will chime in here on this point.

2) SSAA Rule Book Publication.  We are all aware that changes to the interim rule book for Fly Shooting have been approved by the Benchrest Committee meeting in Perth last year, it is my understanding that these need to be published into an interim FLY rule book, then 12 months from that publication date they become official.  Has this been published yet ? if so are there copies available ?

3) Range and Match Approvals.  Is there any progress in getting Townsville approved, is Monarto in SA approved for 500 and or 200 fly ?  Are the 2013 Brisbane FLY matches registered correctly ?

Cheers

i would like to raise the range dates for the shoots are they to close to yield the best numbers at the shoots. I know last year there were a number of people missing from Little River and some will only do one shoot per month etc

I appreciate that these dates fit into the range calendar but may not get the most shooters to the events.

2/ As for SOTY i spoke to jugsy he won't be at the meeting but he expressed that it would his choice to have 4 results from any three seperate ranges. or attend three different ranges a/ but count the best four shoots regardless of which ranges have been shoot.

so it is s two step approach to the SOTY title firstly attend at least three separate ranges
then count your best four results regardless of range.

3/ tactical class for the fly  to encourage the tactical shooters to the events with a stand alone class for them ?

Hi Anthony,

You are correct the rulebook is up for rewrite at the end of this year there has already been considerable work go into it, the Fly rules (and IRB) will be fully incorporated into the BR rulebook.

The rulebook is approved by the National BR sub committee and the changes raised by the shooters in preceding years and passed at the AGMs will be included. There have been  a number of items raised last year at the FLY Nationals in Canberra.
They were all agreed withonly grammatical changes to comply with rule book layout.

The rulebook stays in force for 5 years the only changes allowed within the 5 year period are safety related issues plus in the case of International events where the world controlling body introduces a safety issues or changes related to holdiong World events.

Happy to discuss in further details at Saturdays meeting.

Alex
