Hi Les  thanks for that
I'm sure that the shoot at little river the week before brisbane
helped me with the windy conditions
like you say   no substitute for trigger time
and the record for lowest winning score   was  tested
will have to work on wind reading  to be ready for next year
                       catch up with you soon

Nah..... John you know it was the conditions in Batemans Bay that taught you how to win !!

Surely the experience you gained every where pales in comparison to beautiful Batemans Bay  :)

Well done mate ..... even better to kick arse in your own state !!

Cheers

Anthony

Congratulations John! Nice to see all that travel rewarded. I guess that also makes you the LG champ for Qld. And I'll bet that warm fuzzy feeling was all the sweeter with second place outright. Keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing you in Melbourne again next year.
Pete

Re: Brisbane Madden Fly Shoot

Hello    a J R
during this year i have made three trips south of Mackay  and have  traveled  many Kms  chasing the Fly
since September last year i have done 36,000 Km   and of that about half would be for shooting the fly
like every one else i have had good days and bad days    --- with some high scores  and some small groups --
and also some very low targets with huge groups   -- it depends on how well you can read the conditions  -
every  different range i shoot on  has vastly varied wind speeds and sometimes the flags don't tell a visitor
what he wants to see --  so it always a learning process for me  --
i have shot  7  500m  matches this year   have scored 1372  points on those targets  with a total of 16 Flys
also shot my first  rimfire 200m match  at the bay  and collected 2 more flys
I know that my 6.5 x 47  rifle can shoot better than that  its the nut behind bolt  that lets me down
and only more trigger time and more matches will help me improve
i would like to thank all the organisers and competitors  i have shot against this year   and hope to see
you all at the matches next year
