Just about to give some of these new Bergs a run!

A little birdie told me that Crossy (Pete Cross) may have bought a bunch of these.
So, Crossy or anyone else who might have trialed them...Do they work?

G'day Belly

Haven't done a lot with them as yet.  Did a bit of load development with 2208 and settled on 32.6 grs with a decent jump (approx 15thou). Not sure how fast they are going, they are shooting roughly 3 inches lower at 500m then the 105 @3000fps (refer bottom picture).  Going to shoot them in our next  club match and see what happens. I also intend to do some testing with 2209, Ill let you know how they go.

Good on you Pete,
They seem to be going down ok don't they!  Holding pretty good vertical at 500......any idea about that way left shot?
Most likely just a wind gust as I notice by your info the breeze was up a little compared to your 105 group.

Is it just the pic or do the 109's look like they're chopping a very sharp hole in the page.....they're obviously stable!! What barrel twist you running?

Not sure when I'll get out, hopefully in the next week or so....you've got me motivated a bit.

Thanks and regards,
Belly

Don't pay too much attention to the holes, I supper imposed them onto another target I shot back in November last year just for comparison sake.

The one way out left was me, it was blowing hard when I put them down, wasn't using flags.  Had to hold the right V to keep them roughly in the centre. When I shot the 105s it would have been lucky to be blowing 5 klicks

The pic below is the actual target. I put 5 down and went and grabbed my targets to look at them, Just before I left I put the last 3 down fast just to get rid of them, one of them was the one that ended out way left.

That was with the 1 in 8 Hart barrel.

Thanks Pete,
Be very interested to see how the bigger heavier bullets go with the slower powder!

hey Belly from what i have seen on the US forums the guys are running the same load as their 105gr hybrids, there is nothing in it from what ive seen
some are happy with them and some are not but only way to find out is give them a go, which i want to do but dam they are expensive as over here

G'day Peth,
Yes, I supposes as always it'll be a bullets for barrel scenario!!  They may or may not work.
Anyway, as you say...only one way to know for sure......hopefully I'll find some time soon.

I shot the 284 against the BRX with the 109s today Belly.  The wind picked up a fraction with the 109 but conditions were still good

Don't think I'll bother with anymore load development

Just the original load, 32.6 of 2208.

I had plans to try 2209 Belly, that is until I shot those 5 down to 500. They just confirmed what the other 8 had told me, I don't think I could really get better results. Ill be interested to see how fast they are going, probably find out Wednesday but like they say ours is not a speed race. I'll take that vertical all day long.

EDIT:  Chronographed the 109s and 105s today.

109  32.6 = avg  2928
105 33.2  = avg 3024

Hell Yeah!

I've got three more weeks of cricket pitching and then I'm back into it!

I intend to give them a run with 09 (a case full)  and a few others and see what happens.....
