OK Dave

I know you and Kathy can't wait for yours and I don't want to rub salt into the wound so to speak but I have to show off our new one. Wazza (aka Warren Gardner from Shoot Ya Load Gunsmithing and Engineering, Thankfully soon to be marXman which is a lot easier to type) is such a master craftman. He's not only a top notch machinist he's also  pretty  good on the old CAD program as he designs his own stocks.

Borden RimRock BRMMF. Left feed Right eject action
Hart Barrel 27"
Jewel Trigger
Chambered in 6BRX  (of Course) .120 Freebore.  270 Neck
And of Course the most Beautiful Scope you are ever going to see adorns it.
March-X 8X-80×56 MTR-2 Reticle  Supplied by BRT Shooters Supply.

Have been shooting 2208 in our other BRX's but thought we would try  2209 with this one.  The target below was shot at 300m using 36.0 grains with the 107 SMK's

Great Peter,

This is what I love to see here on the forum, new toys!

It looks outstanding, can you tell us more about the rifle. Action, barrel, calibre etc. What bullets have you decided on and what chamber size has Wazza cut for you - We all love a bit of tech stuff.

Wont be long and you will be shooting your load all over the the place.

Cheers

Dave

Re: Any new rifle Builds to show off?

Thanks Peter,

I am very impressed you already have good groups on paper after less than a week during this lockdown. I would be happy if I could do that after 3 months of testing! Glad to see the Hart is working, Wazza is fitting one to Kathy's rifle, I know they have been very well respected for many years in short range benchrest but you don't hear much about them around the Fly guys.
If there was a prize for the most impressive looking rifle on the range then you would have a winner with this one. Just seeing this rifle build makes me want to order another rifle from Wazza for myself, maybe a heavy gun (cruiser weight) in a 6.5x47 or similar, but I better get Kathy's rifle sorted first or I will be in the dog box.

Great to hear that Judy is going to step up to the 500m as well and shoot this rifle as well. My prediction is Team Cross will be one to watch in 2021.

Cheers

Dave

 Woo Hoo,..Pete!!... Lovely.

Looks like the trees at the range have quite a bit of regrowth on them. Are you guys up and about again?

Hey Belly.

We were so close, as you may well of heard we have had an outbreak of the Covids here so we thought it prudent to wait another couple of weeks.

A little bit of a change of flavour from the beaut centre fire rifles above .
This little guy will make a appearance next match to see how it goes .

Specs :
*Fienwekbau Model 2000 (Jacko’s old action in case it looks familiar )

*Fienwerkbau 2700 alloy stock modified to suit the old action .(thanks Dundas)

* Leupold comp 45x45

* sports match vertical adjustment rings

* Lowey barrel tuner

When life stops getting in the way I will complete the grey laminate stock above .  It’s a Johnny design no action screw stock that I have been working on for a while .

Enjoy

Hi John,

Wow, the rifle looks great. The Leupold scope with Sportsmatch will serve you well.

Thanks for posting,

Dave,

I  making a return after a 3 year hiatus, and as such I have Matt building me a new rifle. While there is still many decisions to be made it will be based on Borden action and a 6mm of some kind.

It’s hard to go away from what you know works, and as this will be my 3rd rifle I will run a March scope as I have with my previous 2. Aside from that I have some ideas to do things a little different than I have previously which to me is half the fun.

There is so many great products available now, cash flow is the only limitation I see
Just doing my part to reduce the fly population!!!!

You wanted to see new toys on the forum Dave, well here is one more for you.

I was talking to Wazz about a new heavy gun Stock, I said I would like to  keep the back from the trigger guard the same as the BRX he did for us and make the forefront 5", carry a bit of weight and hit flies at 500m    As always what he came up with just blew us away. Say hello to:

BigFoot
